Surf Camps in Central America

Central America and the Caribbean deliver warm water, consistent swells, and incredible value from Mexico's Pacific coast to Costa Rica's jungle breaks.

Surfing in Central America

Central America is a surf traveler's paradise, offering warm water, consistent waves, and affordable prices. From Mexico's legendary points to Costa Rica's jungle-lined beaches, this region has become a top destination for surfers worldwide.

Top Surf Destinations

Mexico offers incredible variety - from Baja's desert points to Puerto Escondido's heavy beach break (the "Mexican Pipeline") and Sayulita's beginner-friendly waves. Costa Rica is the region's most developed surf destination, with Tamarindo, Nosara, and Santa Teresa offering world-class waves and infrastructure.

Nicaragua provides uncrowded waves and authentic Central American culture. Panama's Santa Catalina and Bocas del Toro deliver consistent surf in stunning settings. El Salvador has emerged as a favorite for its powerful point breaks and welcoming locals.

The Caribbean islands, including the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, offer surprising surf when swells align.

Best Time to Surf

The Pacific coast fires from April to October during the rainy season, with offshore winds and consistent swells. The dry season (November-April) offers smaller but cleaner waves. Caribbean destinations work best during winter swells.

What Makes Central America Special

Warm water year-round, affordable prices, incredible biodiversity, and a laid-back pace of life make Central America perfect for extended surf trips. Many surfers come for a week and stay for months.
