About Heiwa House & Surf Camp in Santa Cruz

The Location

Fly into Lisbon and you're about 50 minutes away by car – pretty easy. The house is a 5-minute walk from the ocean cliffs (great for sunset strolls) and a quick 5-minute drive to the nearest surf beach.

Nearby Surf

The local beach breaks are punchy and can get hollow – solid for intermediate and advanced surfers. Beginners? No stress, there are mellower spots nearby. If you want world-class waves, [Peniche](https://wavecamps.com/portugal/peniche/ ) is 30 minutes away and Ericeira about 40 minutes.

Food

If you book a Surf Week, food is included and guests rave about it – "amazing" comes up a lot in reviews. Communal dinners, healthy stuff, proper fuel for surfing. Room-only guests will need to sort their own meals.

Amenities in the House

They've gone all out here: swimming pool, skate park with a bowl and mini ramp, sauna, cold plunge, yoga dome, darts, ping pong, bikes, and surfboard rentals. Plenty to do on flat days.

Activities Nearby

Coastal hiking right from the door, horseback riding on the beach, and easy day trips to Óbidos, Sintra, or Nazaré if you want to explore.

Best Months to Come

Beginners: June to September – smaller waves, warmer water, perfect for learning.

Intermediates: April-May or September-October – more swell than summer but still manageable, fewer crowds.

Advanced: October to March – proper Atlantic power, cold water, but you'll score uncrowded sessions.

This camp is located in Portugal on the Lisbon coast.
