Types of Waves

Bocas del Toro offers a wide variety of waves, from gentle beginner slopes to powerful, barreling reef breaks. The main surf spots are concentrated around three islands: Isla Colón, Isla Carenero, and Isla Bastimentos.

Beach Breaks: Bluff Beach on Isla Colón is a famous heavy beach break known for its powerful tubes. For less experienced surfers, Red Frog Beach and Wizard Beach on Isla Bastimentos offer more forgiving beach breaks, especially on smaller swells.
