The best time to surf in Tamraght is from October to April. During these months, consistent northwest swells from the North Atlantic create ideal wave conditions for all skill levels. The winter months, from December to February, typically see the biggest waves, which are perfect for advanced surfers. For beginners and intermediate surfers, the shoulder seasons of autumn (September-October) and spring (March-April) offer smaller, more manageable waves and pleasant weather.

A 3/2mm or 4/3mm wetsuit is recommended during this time. In the summer (June-August), the water warms up to 20-22°C (68-72°F), and a 2mm shorty or even boardshorts and a rashguard can be sufficient on warmer days. During the spring and autumn, a 3/2mm wetsuit is usually the most comfortable option.
